Over the years, taking care of my body slowly became a hobby rather than a burden. Looking back, that change may have transformed my life more than I realized.
It really is! My partner and I are dreaming about moving here permanently a couple of years from now, so we’re checking out different areas where we could see ourselves living one day 🤩🤭
We come from Norway, which we love for many reasons, but Portugal has so many of the same qualities we appreciate, only with better weather and, honestly, a higher quality of life. Norway is beautiful, but it is very expensive, and the weather can be quite hard to live with for so much of the year.
Small world! I live in Sweden, retired now (several other places along the way) and my visit to Portugal was with my US-based daughter, who is considering relocating there (or possibly Turkey or Albania if the EU membership comes through). She felt the same way as you do…and the weather, of course, appeals to some people fare more than the colder, admittedly quite different Nordics. But, well, for my Alaskan Malamute, Sweden and Norway work (and she is from the Netherlands LOL).
I was very lucky to grow up going to Portugal during the summer and it’s such a special place! My husband and I have thought about moving there as well. Which parts have you visited?
Oh, I was in Lisbon (and surrounds) last year…it was WONDERFUL but you have far, far more wonderful food photos than I managed! Love it! The food WAS glorious; I was not then ‘diagnosed’ but eating carefully and, still, all that seafood and wonderful ‘stuff’…yummy. Great post, loved the advice and ideas and perspective, thank you.
This is such great advice! And isn’t Portugal the most wonderful place??
