A 2046 Thought Experiment and Why It Matters Now
I am a very restless person who always needs to be doing something. Lying on a sun lounger for hours, or spending many days at a spa hotel, is usually not my cup of tea. But since I started Substack, I feel like I can find calm wherever I am. At the airport, on the sun lounger, or on a long taxi ride from the terminal.
Substack is so writer friendly that I can get my thoughts down anywhere. I can sit and reflect while looking out a window, let my eyes rest on something in my surroundings, and draw inspiration from what I hear and what I see. A beautiful view. An unforgettable food experience in a new place in the world. A busy airport where there is that strange mix of dead time and stress at the same time.
Normally, a long weekend at a spa hotel would have been completely out of the question for me, almost a nightmare. But now I find myself stretched out flat on a sun lounger, writing and writing. The only breaks I take are for food and a few rounds in the pool, where I swim, move my body, and get circulation going for my lymphatic system. It feels almost magical.
My creativity is blooming because I am constantly receiving input from the world around me while still having space to think. I’m writing this post from the sunlit hills of Kakheti, with the Caucasus Mountains rising in the distance, and the sun warming my whole body. I feel genuinely positive and grateful for what this platform has already created in my life, and I believe a cascade effect is coming as more engaged readers find their way here.
